The Astilbe Amethyst a spring planted tuber, can fill a garden space with beautiful lavender color. The tall stems are topped with 8 to 12 inch plumes that are full of tiny flowers. The flowers are contrasted nicely by the glossy green foliage. They are great for a shady area that needs color.
